Accounting Specialist Position

As an experienced accounting specialist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality financial services to clients. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional support with financial needs, including preparing comprehensive financial statements, income tax returns, and Business Activity Statements.

You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate client histories, trust details, and completing complex financial statements and tax returns across various entity types.

About the Role
  • Collaborate with clients to meet their goals, objectives, and address queries while maintaining regular client contact.
  • Utilize industry-leading accounting software like XERO, MYOB, Reckon, Banklink, Cashflow Manager, and Phoenix to extract reports and data, provide training, and assist with queries.
  • Prepare detailed financial statements, income tax returns, and Business Activity Statements for diverse industries based on source data provided by the client.
  • Remain up-to-date with tax law changes and interpret tax regulations to explain them to clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting or a relevant equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • The ability to adapt quickly to new software, with experience in Xero, MYOB, and/or QuickBooks being an advantage.
  • Demonstration of energy, drive, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop within the profession.
