Medical File Reviewer/PHRN Job Description

This role involves preparing case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) assigned through a client portal.

  • Prepares case files and DBQs for review and completion.
  • Reviews medical records, bookmarks key information, and creates a synopsis to answer medical opinion questions based on the veteran's medical history.
  • Assists medical providers during scheduled appointments by accessing, navigating, and preparing different apps on their computer prior to the appointment.
  • Remotely interviews veterans via approved video or telephone conference platforms.
  • Transcribes medical histories based on the veteran's answers to the DBQ questions.
  • Documents physical examination findings in the DBQ spreadsheets.
  • Completes all sections of the DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
  • Discusses assigned cases with medical providers to determine final diagnoses and approve medical opinions.
  • Transfers data from the DBQ spreadsheet to the client portal.
