Senior Architect Job Summary

A seasoned and skilled architect with 10+ years of experience in technical design and documentation. The ideal candidate will lead project teams, supervise staff, and ensure consistent quality design across all projects.

The Role
  • Technical Leadership: Provide remote technical leadership to project teams, collaborating with architects, associates, and consultants on large-scale projects ranging from renovations to ground-up construction.
  • Project Management: Develop market strategies, understand client needs, and build long-lasting client relationships.
  • Design and Documentation: Establish design concepts, create 3D models, plan spaces, and coordinate with consultants.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Marketing and Sales: Collaborate on proposal development, defining tasks, timelines, fees, and preparing project documents.
  2. Programming: Conduct zoning and code reviews, develop space needs, and plan spaces effectively.
  3. Bidding and Administration: Assist in bid package preparation, respond to contractor RFIs effectively, communicate contract requirements, review submittals, and coordinate change orders efficiently.
  4. Documentation: Prepare contract documents, lead quality control, and oversee technical details.
  5. Leadership and Support: Communicate effectively with clients and staff, support team assignments, budgets, invoicing, and maintain effective communication with clients and staff.
What We're Looking For
  • Professional Degree: A professional degree in Architecture.
  • Architectural Licensure: Architectural licensure (U.S. preferred; international considered with strong experience).
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership in technical design and documentation.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Revit, with additional skills in SketchUp, Photoshop, and related software a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
  • Knowledge of Building Codes: Knowledge of building codes (Chicago Building Code and IBC experience highly valued).
