Financial Controller Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Controller to oversee the financial health of our organization. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have experience in agency environments, particularly in digital marketing, creative, or similar fields. A strong background in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and reconcile QBO records to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Develop strategic financial plans to support business growth and improve profitability.
  • Oversee cash flow, accounts payable/receivable, and expense tracking for the organization.
  • Handle payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate compensation for employees and contractors.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Ensure tax compliance and maintain accurate records.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar role in a digital marketing agency or related industry.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and ability to manage financials within the platform.
  • Payroll management experience, including processing payroll, tax compliance, and benefits administration.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, financial planning, and reporting principles.
  • Experience managing agency financials, project-based accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with high attention to detail.
  • CPA or relevant financial certifications are an advantage.
