Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Community Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in designing and executing initiatives that foster a thriving community. Your technical expertise and organizational skills will help support community projects, smooth processes, and integrate community plans with our goals for maximum impact.

As a Community Engineer, you will lead complex programs from conception through launch, working closely with cross-functional teams, including Developer Relations engineers, technical authors, product managers, marketing teams, engineering teams, and external partners.

You will engage with volunteer developers in the Ubuntu community, address their concerns, and help them create successful tools. You will ensure the success of their projects and the overall autonomy and sustainability of community contributions.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Technical proficiency in open source software, Linux, and sustainable community building.
  • Experience with developer tools and open source projects.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and assume full ownership of objectives as needed.
  • Flexibility with time and willingness to adapt to new technology in a fast-paced environment.
