Job Summary: We are looking for a highly skilled Statistician to join our team and contribute to our Food Security and Nutrition Program. The ideal candidate will have experience in qualitative analysis, participatory methods, and community-driven research approaches.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze qualitative data from Photo Voice sessions to identify key themes and patterns.
- Interpret community narratives and experiences related to fruit and vegetable consumption.
- Use software such as NVIVO or MAXQDA to manage and organize qualitative data.
- Collaborate with project teams to refine the Photo Voice methodology and ensure cultural and contextual relevance.
- Develop a coding framework for thematic analysis, emphasizing lived experiences and community perspectives.
- Maintain confidentiality and cultural sensitivity when managing sensitive data.
- Propose strategies to improve the availability, affordability, and consumption of fruits and vegetables based on research findings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics or a related field.
- Master's or Ph.D. in Qualitative Research, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related field with expertise in participatory methods.
- 3-5 years of experience in analyzing qualitative data, particularly from participatory methods like Photo Voice.
- Familiarity with food systems, nutrition, or public health projects in rural contexts is an advantage.
