Key Responsibilities

The Chief Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of all building systems and equipment, ensuring the facilities run smoothly and meet the highest standards of safety and comfort.

This includes:

  • Managing and supervising the hotel's engineering department, including training maintenance staff
  • Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to prolong the life of equipment and systems
  • Coordinating and overseeing repair and renovation projects, ensuring work is completed to a high standard
  • Monitoring energy usage and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Chief Engineer or in a senior engineering management role within the hospitality industry
  • Thorough understanding of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and life safety systems
  • Proven track record of leading and motivating a team of engineering and maintenance personnel
