Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Financial Controller to lead our day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate reconciliations and maintaining audit-ready records.

  • Lead the month-end close process: Ensure timely preparation of financial reports, providing valuable insights into company performance.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team: Supervise and develop a team of approximately 7 staff members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and DCAA: Oversee financial reporting and accounting practices to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams: Work closely with project managers and accountants to review project status, analyze margins, and provide billing support.
  • Maintain the Deltek VantagePoint system: Oversee report development, system optimization, and accuracy of the General Ledger (GL) and Project Ledger.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting: A strong educational foundation in accounting is essential for this role.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Controller: Proven experience at a similar level in a professional services or project-based firm is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP & Project Accounting: A deep understanding of GAAP and project accounting principles is necessary for this position.
  • Auditing and reconciliation background: Experience in auditing and reconciliations is essential for maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Deltek VantagePoint and Excel skills: Strong proficiency in Deltek VantagePoint and advanced Excel skills are required for this role.
