Geospatial Analyst - Remote Sensing Expert

We are seeking an experienced Geospatial Analyst to lead our remote sensing initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GIS, environmental science, and computer science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement remote sensing projects, including project feasibility assessments, implementation, and long-term monitoring.
  • Analyze and model geospatial data to map land cover/use, assess fire risk, estimate above-ground biomass, and model deforestation risk.
  • Leverage advanced technologies like cloud computing, machine learning, and scripting languages to build automated workflows and enhance geospatial infrastructure.
  • Collect field data using drones, provide technical guidance and training, and ensure geospatial quality control across teams.

Clear documentation, reporting, and communication of remote sensing outputs are crucial for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Environmental Science, Forestry, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Remote Sensing & GIS.
  • Expertise in workflow automation, machine learning/deep learning techniques for image classification and segmentation.
  • Experience with advanced remote sensing analysis and modelling, including image processing and change detection.
  • In-depth knowledge of RS/GIS implementation for forestry, conservation, and land use in AFOLU carbon projects.
  • Familiarity with photogrammetry software and programming skills in Python and Google Earth Engine.
