Responsibilities:
  • System Administration: Administer and maintain z/OS systems, including MQ infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
  • Configuration and Management: Configure and manage MQ objects (queue managers, queues, channels, triggers), apply patches, updates, and perform version upgrades.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize MQ performance using tools like IBM MQ Explorer, Tivoli, and tune queue depths, log sizes, and buffer pools for optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting and Incident Management: Analyze MQ error logs, dumps, and traces to determine root causes, diagnose and resolve MQ connectivity issues and message delays.
  • Disaster Recovery and Backup: Implement MQ replication, backup, and recovery procedures, participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) testing to ensure high availability of MQ services.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IBM WebSphere MQ.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM z/OS Systems Administration.
  • Experience in IBM MQ installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with JCL, IBM & ISV Utilities.
  • Overall understanding of z/OS, Storage, and Database support areas.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills for critical issue resolution.
