Data Engineer Leader

Unlock the potential of data innovation as a key player in shaping the future of our global team. We're seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of robust systems and infrastructure for processing and analysing large and complex datasets.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar field, with a strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and other programming languages. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field is required.
The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, with experience in hiring, mentoring, and leading junior engineers. They will also be comfortable working in a collaborative environment, interacting with stakeholders to create and build analytical products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of new data pipelines, data warehouses, and cloud-based systems using tools like Snowflake and AWS/GCP.
- Design and implement performant batch and streaming data pipelines capable of handling large volumes of data in both real-time market data and batch formats.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and develop scalable solutions.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings to coordinate and collaborate on development efforts.
Experience/Competences:
- 5+ years of work experience in data engineering or similar
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related technical field
- Experience hiring, mentoring and leading junior engineers
- Proficiency in Python with at least one data manipulation framework (e.g. Pandas, Dask, Pyspark) and SQL; knowledge of other languages like Java, C#, or C++ is advantageous.
