Technical Drafter Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient individual to join our design and manufacturing team as a Technical Drafter with specialized experience in furniture production.

This role involves transforming concepts and specifications into precise technical drawings that guide the fabrication and assembly of custom furniture products. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and production staff to ensure that all technical documentation meets both aesthetic and functional standards.

  • Create detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
  • Translate design concepts and sketches into fully dimensioned production-ready technical documents.
  • Prepare exploded views, assembly instructions, and component lists to support fabrication and installation processes.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with furniture designers and production teams to ensure technical drawings align with design intent, manufacturing capabilities, and material specifications.
  • Reviewing and adjusting designs for structural integrity, ergonomics, and material efficiency.
  • Providing technical support during prototyping, fabrication, and installation phases.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in technical drafting, specifically in the furniture manufacturing or millwork industry preferred.
  • A strong understanding of woodworking techniques, joinery, materials, and hardware used in furniture production.
