About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance on geographic-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role will involve collaborating with colleagues across various departments, including Legal, Corporate Functions, and business teams, to identify and manage legal, regulatory, and compliance risks.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a detailed understanding of relevant functional areas and company policies and procedures.
- Provide credible business advice through familiarity with Accenture's strategic priorities, target areas for growth, and business operations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and manage legal, regulatory, and compliance risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Review internal and client-facing projects and initiatives to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and voluntary commitments.
- Demonstrate functional subject matter expertise in the concerned support area and act as a point of contact.
- Stay abreast of legal developments and wider governmental policy or regulatory change affecting the company, its clients, people, and communities.
- Drive the creation, development, and maintenance of enablement materials, trainings, presentations, templates, guidance, and checklists.
- Direct and manage local and global teams on legal projects, including strategic initiatives and support implementation of new initiatives.
- Supervise resources and assist GLN Global and Area Function lead in people management, as required.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to junior members of the team.
- JD /bachelor's degree in law (LLB) (or equivalent) or higher from a recognized institution and admission in good standing with applicable bar association(s).
- Minimum 6 - 8 yrs. relevant experience in a dynamic in-house/corporate legal or law firm environment, with familiarity of working across different jurisdictions and with multi-national clients.
- Additional certifications and experience, including compliance-related global professional certification(s) and/or corporate law and/or company experience, considered a plus.
