Apparel Production and Procurement Role

The key responsibility of this position is to oversee the procurement of clothing and leather goods for an apparel company.

This involves negotiations with new suppliers, making creative decisions to develop clothing pieces from drawings, and guiding factories through production.

Responsibilities include placing bulk orders with existing suppliers, analyzing data in Excel or coding to optimize orders and profitability.

  • Negotiating with new suppliers to secure favorable agreements.
  • Making informed creative decisions based on drawings and guiding factories to produce high-quality items.
  • Placing large-scale orders with current suppliers to meet customer demand.
  • Analyzing data using Excel or coding skills to improve order efficiency and profit margins.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience sourcing suppliers on B2B platforms such as Alibaba.
  • Effective negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to make creative decisions based on product designs.
  • Proven track record of managing product creation from design to bulk production.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials related to clothing.
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Optional but preferred: 1 year of coding experience, including understanding of basic programming concepts.
  • Strong data analysis skills with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Experience with Shopify and logistics operations is also desired.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and negotiate with suppliers. They must have a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and be able to analyze data to drive business growth.

A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as supply chain management or business administration, is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Regularly reviewing and adapting to changes in the market, ensuring that procurement practices remain efficient and cost-effective. Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices and terms to achieve optimal outcomes.

Directing factory staff to ensure timely and accurate production of products according to specifications.

Optimizing inventory levels to minimize waste and excess stock.

Ensuring compliance with quality control standards and regulations.
