Job Purpose

The Quality and Coding Manager collaborates with internal staff to enhance capabilities in documentation, coding, and compliance. The position evaluates and reviews the overall quality of coding on accounts completed by medical coders.

  • Ensures adherence to workflows and ethical coding practices.
  • Designs and implements quality coding review programs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Communicates review findings and recommendations to management.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Leads a team of employees in all aspects of the job to meet objectives and maintain company culture, policies, goals, and procedures.
  2. Administers the Quality Assessment process to guarantee all quality standards/targets are met.
  3. Manages operational processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and productivity standards/targets are met.
  4. Acts as client contact for day-to-day operational issues and staff assignments.
  5. Reviews and analyzes reports, records, and data to meet and exceed client and company objectives.
  6. Collaborates with workgroups to resolve issues that impact internal and external customers.
  7. Ensures employees follow their schedules properly as designed.
  8. Strives for new ways to increase efficient and accurate work assignments.
  9. Documents general reports on each team member's performance and targets.
  10. Monitors systems to ensure optimal performance.
  11. Disseminates changes in guidelines and rules; monitors changes in laws, regulations, and policies that impact clinical documentation and reimbursement to assure compliance.
  12. Fosters an environment of teamwork and service excellence within the department.
  13. Participates in performance improvement activities.
  14. Assists in creating, monitoring, and standardizing company policies and procedures to monitor the success of the data quality management plan.
