Job Overview

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and securing the organisation's IT infrastructure. This includes managing Windows Server environments, overseeing Microsoft 365 services and configuring Entra ID for identity and access management.

The role also involves deploying and optimising Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and security, supporting and maintaining cloud infrastructure within Azure, and implementing Microsoft Defender for endpoint, identity and cloud security.

In addition, the IT Infrastructure Engineer will work with Microsoft Purview to ensure compliance, data governance and security policies, assist in implementing security best practices, vulnerability management and patching strategies.

Responsibilities include providing technical support for escalated infrastructure-related incidents and service requests, monitoring system performance, availability and security through proactive monitoring tools, and ensuring regular backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will automate IT processes using PowerShell, Azure Automation and other scripting tools, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, ARM templates or similar, and drive continuous improvement and optimisation of IT infrastructure and cloud resources.

Key Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, focusing on Microsoft technologies
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration, Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
  • Experience with Intune for device and application management
  • Familiarity with security tools like Microsoft Defender and compliance solutions like Purview
  • Exposure to scripting and automation using PowerShell
