Job Overview
Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a skilled professional to fill the role of Lead Finance Specialist. This position is a key member of the Order-to-Cash (OtC) department, responsible for applying day-to-day recording of cash receipts for allocated countries.Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily monitoring of incoming cash transactions.
- Process bank receipts in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure proper allocation of debtors suspense amounts against customers or to appropriate general ledger areas.
- Record cheque receipts, log cheques with the bank, and follow through until receipt into the account.
- Process direct debits and collaborate with Treasury teams to ensure end-to-end approval.
- Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Guarantee sufficient documentation is maintained to trace all transactions and maintain reconciliation.
- Perform month-end activities such as account reconciliation, month-end close, and reporting.
- Liaise with internal credit control teams to discuss complex unallocated payments.
- Contact customers to obtain remittances or resolve outstanding cash entries.
- Review and act on unallocated cash amounts on a regular basis.
- Provide timely access to leaders regarding difficult team cases that have not been resolved.
- Develop knowledge in company systems and platforms for assigned processes.
- Evaluate performance tasks according to company policies, internal controls, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Ensure completion of Cash Application tickets and other requests within established service level agreements.
- Verify approvals are in accordance with applicable process matrices before completing applications.
- Assist with internal or external audits by compiling requested samples.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the department, proposing solutions and standard processes.

- Initiative and organisation skills to ensure timely completion of a large volume of work.
- Qualifications and Experience:
- University or College degree.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Previous experience in Shared Service Centers in a similar role.
- Proven experience handling at least one ERP system.
- Experience in banking portals.
Work Environment
