Lead Credit Strategist

We are seeking an experienced Lead Credit Strategist to develop and implement our company's credit risk policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with expertise in credit analysis, risk management, and strategic planning. They will be responsible for assessing borrower creditworthiness, leading credit evaluation and approval processes, and monitoring the performance of our credit portfolio.

A key aspect of this role is team leadership, as the successful candidate will manage and mentor a team of credit analysts and underwriters, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration.

In addition, they will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deal execution and risk alignment, providing regular reports to executive leadership on credit performance and risk exposure.

Responsibilities:

• Credit Policy & Strategy: Develop, implement, and maintain credit risk policies and procedures tailored to real estate transactions
• Credit Evaluation & Approval: Lead the assessment of borrower creditworthiness, including individuals, developers, and institutional clients
• Portfolio Risk Management: Monitor the performance of the credit portfolio, identify emerging risks, and implement mitigation strategies
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of credit analysts and underwriters, promoting a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with legal, finance, and property management teams to ensure smooth deal execution and risk alignment
• Reporting & Analytics: Provide regular reports to executive leadership on credit performance, risk exposure, and key metrics

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
• Graduated cum laude or better from university is preferred
• 8–10+ years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in real estate or top financial institutions
• Strong knowledge of U.S. lending regulations and real estate market dynamics
• Proficiency in credit scoring models, financial analysis, and risk assessment tools
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Solid organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
• Excellent command of the English language
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must possess strong work ethic
