Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of Tax Accountant.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Tax Return Preparation: Prepare personal and business tax returns, including auto, M-1 reconciliation, and uniform capitalization work papers.
  • Client Communication: Contact clients for information or documents required to complete returns.
  • Tax Research: Conduct independent research of all necessary laws prior to submitting a return to the reviewer.
  • Tax Planning: Prepare tax projections and planning tasks for clients, including determining tax liability, salary requirements, payroll liabilities, and estimated payments.
  • IRS and State Agency Correspondence: Handle correspondences with IRS and state agencies, and perform tasks such as preparing payment plan paperwork and Powers of Attorney.
  • Bookkeeping and QuickBooks Support: Perform external bookkeeping, adjust balance sheets, handle year-end adjustments, and provide internal and external QuickBooks support.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in tax and accounting software/tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, CCH Access/ProFX Tax, and Intelliconnect Tax Research.
  • Certification: Licensed as a certified public accountant is a plus.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Data Management: Aptitude in data management, analytics, and reporting preparation.
