  2. Maintain high standards of quality and presentation in all menu items.

Functional Job Responsibilities

Function 1: Food Preparation and Presentation

  1. Select and use only the freshest ingredients to create innovative and delicious dishes.
  2. Implement math skills for accurate recipe execution.
  3. Process requisitions for supplies to ensure timely delivery.
  4. Report equipment malfunctions to the chef and engineering team.
  5. Clean walk-in and reach-in boxes daily to maintain a safe working environment.
  6. Ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products to meet health department regulations.

Function 2: Team Leadership and Management

  1. Assign specific duties to employees to optimize kitchen efficiency.
  2. Maintain accurate vacation schedules for adequate staffing.
  3. Adhere to cost control procedures while ensuring quality standards.
  4. Select, train, and supervise kitchen staff to achieve optimal coverage and payroll management.

Function 3: Special Events and Support

  1. Participate in VIP events and staff meetings as required.

In addition to performance of essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions based on the manager's discretion.

Requirements

Essential Competencies and Skills

  • Degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
  • Expertise in food product, presentation, quality, and preparation along with menu concept and design.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules.

Experience Required

  • At least 5 years of experience as Sous Chef.
