Job Opportunity

Our company is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in taxation and accounting, with a focus on Australian tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process financial statements from the trial balance stage and prepare them for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office
  • Prepare Business Activity Statements and Installment Activity Statements for lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office
  • Maintain general ledgers by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing trial balances, and reconciling entries
  • Prepare private tax returns, trust, partnership tax returns, and End of year compliance jobs
  • Utilize knowledge of Division 7a loans
  • Ensure timely completion of required tax reporting
  • Develop and update tax provision schedules
  • Identify and rectify process errors causing incorrect tax filings and negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues
  • Provide mentorship and review work for junior accountants
  • Assume leadership responsibilities for future accountants joining the team

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Accountancy or Accounting Technology; advantageous if CPA licensed
  • Minimum 4 years of accounting and tax experience, with at least 4+ years of experience in AU tax accounting
  • Leadership capabilities and interest in leading the team in the future
  • Advantageous if experienced in an accounting/audit firm
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attentive to details and organized
  • Strong time management skills
