Job Role

The principal engineer position involves providing input into sector strategy and contributing towards its achievement. The role requires effective communication with team members to ensure they understand and become engaged with sector/discipline business plans.

The principal engineer will be responsible for proactively managing selected projects or components of projects, taking responsibility for resource allocation, managing subcontractors, producing analysis and design, ensuring integrity of overall design and quality assurance.

Liaising with project managers is essential to ensure commercial aspects relating to design teams achieve a successful result. Identifying opportunities and driving implementation of re-engineering strategies to maximize profitability of design components is also a key aspect of the role.

Building effective and enduring relationships with clients is critical in this position. Providing leadership, direction, and technical advice to project team members, as well as taking a proactive role in developing team members to their full potential, are essential responsibilities.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of experience working on civil-type projects
  • Strong English language skills with great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Availability to work abroad if required
  • Knowledgeable in Civil 3D & Navisworks
  • 2D and/or 3D design of technical plans for residential or industrial areas
