The Design & Cost Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of Light & Heavy Industries Projects at Equipment Engineers, Inc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender documents and prepare cost estimates to produce a detailed cost-efficient proposal satisfying the client's requirements for Light & Heavy Industries Projects.
- Plan and execute cost estimates preparation, review bid documents, identify conflicts, and prepare technical queries.
- Generate Bill of Materials (BoM) by quantifying material take-off necessary for the project.
- Request prices with SCM and Logistics of quantified materials and subcontract works required for project completion.
- Coordinate with Planning/Process Department for manloading and schedule.
- Prepare cost estimates using collective information/data and prices with technical and commercial consideration.
- Present and report the developed cost proposal to PMT/Marketing for approval and signatories of document.
- Provide budgeted cost to Cost Control Group as reference for the implementation of awarded projects.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of Mechanical Engineering
- Skills: Proficient in oral and written communication, including listening; computer literate in AutoCAD, Planswift, Microsoft Office applications (MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project), and other costing-related software.
- Experience: 2-5 years experienced in Design and Cost estimating of Light & Heavy Industries Projects (Manufacture, Power Plants, Cement Plant, Mining, and Oil & Gas).
- Special Requirements: Knowledgeable in Local and International Codes & Standards (Fire Protection, Piping, Plates & Structurals); demonstrated proficiency in Blueprint reading, Visualization, and Drafting Skills; Material take-off, Materials Specifications; demonstrated proficiency in MS Project or MS Excel to provide accurate accomplishment/productivity reports thru formulated data, figures, and graphs; competent level in Communication Skills, able to perceive and deliver concerns both for subordinates and superiors; Efficient Time Management Skills, monitor and control work priorities, manage interruptions & multi-tasking efficiently, and deliver output within target schedules.
