Job Title: Mortgage Underwriter - Loan Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Underwriter to join our team. As a Loan Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and validating mortgage loan components to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Loan Preparation and Accuracy: Ensure all mortgage loan components align with Automated Underwriting System (AUS) outputs and prepare loan packages with the highest level of accuracy.
  • Conduct thorough calculations and validations to ensure the integrity and reliability of the loan package.
  • Identify and resolve credit issues to minimize risks and maintain investor trust.
Credit and Risk Mitigation
  • Maintain meticulous documentation for each underwriting decision and communicate requirements clearly.
  • Stay updated on industry guidelines, investor requirements, and regulatory changes to uphold best practices.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of experience with mortgage loan underwriting (conventional, FHA/VA, non-QM).
  • Experience with TRID guidelines, agency, and investor guidelines (Fannie/Freddie/HUD/VA).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel/Google Sheets and task management tools.
  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, finance, economics, or related fields.
  • Flexibility to work US Pacific time.
