Financial Administrator Job

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented financial administrator to fill this role. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting tasks in Xero, reconciling accounts, processing invoices, managing expenses, and handling general ledger entries.

You will also be utilizing Dext to capture, code, and file supplier receipts and invoices; ensuring digital documents are organized and audit-ready. Additionally, you will process and track accounts payable and receivable, prepare supplier payments and chase incoming payments as needed.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting tasks in Xero: reconcile accounts, process invoices, manage expenses, and handle general ledger entries.
  • Utilize Dext to capture, code, and file supplier receipts and invoices; ensure digital documents are organized and audit-ready.
  • Process and track accounts payable and receivable; prepare supplier payments and chase incoming payments as needed.
  • Collaborate with the director to support accurate job costing: allocate materials, labour, and overhead to relevant projects.
  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
  • Prepare monthly management reports: P&L, cash-flow statements, project cost summaries.
  • Assist with Business Activity Statement (BAS) preparation and liaise with external accountants for GST and tax matters.
