Cyber Security Analyst Job Description

Our organization is seeking a skilled Cyber Security Analyst to join our team. As a Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for providing real-time threat analysis and detection, conducting in-depth investigations on security events, and supporting the Incident Management process.

The successful candidate will be joining the Security Operations team within Cyber Risk and will be responsible for:

  • Providing real-time threat analysis and detection.
  • Conducting in-depth investigations on security events, raising incidents, and supporting the Incident Management process.
  • Handling incidents remotely and providing security advice to support customers during and immediately after security incidents.
  • Responding to system alerts, analyzing logs and traffic patterns.
  • Supporting multiple customer environments concurrently.
  • Analyzing security log data and network traffic for trends.
  • Generating security reports for customers.
  • Sharing information with other analysts and teams.
  • Tuning detection rules and whitelisting false positives.
  • Supporting investigations of major incidents.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Possessing knowledge of the security threat landscape.
  • Understanding Cyber Security Incident Response processes and procedures.
  • Having good knowledge of Windows and Unix systems fundamentals.
  • Being familiar with security methodologies, processes, and solutions.
  • Understanding TCP/IP protocols, network analysis, and security applications.
  • Using investigation techniques to determine security incidents.
  • Managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and managing time well.
  • Possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
