Job Overview

The Tax Compliance Specialist will be responsible for managing and preparing tax returns, handling payroll processing, and maintaining accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online.

This role requires a strong understanding of tax laws, payroll processes, and proficiency in using QBO for financial management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring compliance with all regulations
  • Manage payroll processing and prepare accurate and timely payroll returns
  • Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks Online (QBO)
  • Perform general bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions and reconciling accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy
  • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and payroll regulations
  • Provide support during audits and liaise with external auditors as needed
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of financial information
  • Provide training and support to team members on QBO usage and best practices
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience in preparing tax returns and payroll returns
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other accounting software
  • Strong understanding of tax laws, payroll processes, and accounting principles
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, Enrolled Agent) is a plus
