Job Description

The Medical Underwriting Assistant plays a crucial role in underwriting new business and renewals within specified guidelines and authority levels.

This position involves managing underwriting activities, fostering relationships with intermediaries and business partners to drive underwriting service delivery and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively manage renewal portfolios and new business targets.
  • Monitor, review and comply with all underwriting standards, procedures and processes.
  • Provide timely and professional service to customers and intermediaries.
  • Develop and improve knowledge of current legislation, best practice, underwriting, systems, products and organizational guidelines.
  • Manage portfolios and relationships with brokers and colleagues to achieve retention, growth and profitability targets.
  • Deliver timely decisions and problem-solving solutions for customers and intermediaries.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Underwriters.
