Key Role: Financial Lines Underwriter

As a financial lines underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and mitigating risks associated with various business operations.

Our ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, enabling them to evaluate complex financial data, identify potential vulnerabilities, and develop tailored risk management solutions.

  1. Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business within various financial lines products, including cyber insurance, professional indemnity, directors & officers liability, and crime insurance.
  2. Conduct thorough risk assessments, analyzing financial statements, loss histories, and other relevant information to determine appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing.
  3. Develop a deep understanding of the evolving cyber insurance landscape, encompassing emerging threats, policy forms, and market trends.
  4. Underwrite cyber liability, data breach, network security, and other related coverages, ensuring clients receive comprehensive protection.
  5. Assess complex risks and provide expert recommendations to clients, helping them navigate challenging scenarios.
  6. Stay abreast of regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and underwriting guidelines to ensure seamless decision-making.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders, fostering effective communication and trust.

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a business-related field, such as finance, insurance, or information technology.
  • Significant experience in insurance underwriting, broking, or a related industry, preferably within the financial lines sector.
  • Familiarity with financial lines insurance products, underwriting principles, and industry practices.
  • Excellent analytical, risk assessment, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
