Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Tax Specialist to provide expert tax support to clients in areas of tax compliance, accurate payroll taxes submission, W2/YE balancing, and client communication.

  • Tax Compliance: Ensure clients adhere to all tax regulations and guidelines.
  • Payroll Accuracy: Review and audit payroll commits to guarantee employees are taxed accurately.
  • Payroll Tax Adjustments: Collaborate with customers and internal teams to process payroll tax adjustments efficiently.
  • Wage Rate Audit: Conduct monthly audits to confirm customers' wages and rates are accurate.
  • Pre-funding Requests: Assist customers with timely pre-funding requests for tax agencies.
  • Annual W-4 Form Exemptions: Review W-4 Form exemptions annually to ensure reasonability checks for customers' employees.
  • Tax Code Updates: Stay current on tax code changes and work with clients to maintain alignment.
  • Quarter/Year-End Balancing: Perform quarterly and year-end audits to balance customers' and employees' taxes.
  • Tax Deposit Reconciliation: Review tax deposits weekly, reconcile any discrepancies, and register accounts with applicable agencies.
  • Audit Resolution: Resolve audit findings promptly.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in payroll tax, human resources, or payroll administration in a large, high-volume environment. Key skills include excellent written and verbal communication, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, customer focus, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree or certification in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in payroll tax or a related field.
  • Proven track record of accuracy and efficiency in handling complex tax matters.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
