Job Overview
The Insurance Verification Supervisor is a crucial role that oversees the insurance verification process, ensuring efficient and accurate verification of patient insurance coverage and authorizations. This position provides direct supervision to a team of insurance verification specialists, supporting their development and ensuring adherence to established procedures and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support a team of insurance verification specialists, providing guidance on optimizing claim submission and reimbursement processes.
Collaborate with billing and coding teams to address insurance-related claim rejections and denials, working together to resolve discrepancies in insurance coverage and billing information.
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment conducive to achieving team goals, encouraging continuous learning and skill enhancement within the team.
Conduct regular training sessions and provide ongoing support to ensure team members are proficient in insurance verification procedures and software, identifying training needs and opportunities for professional development among team members.
Assist in investigating and resolving discrepancies in insurance coverage and billing information, collaborating with the Insurance Verification Manager to implement improvements and address areas for enhancement.
Emphasize the importance of adhering to HIPAA regulations and other relevant healthcare laws and regulations, conducting periodic audits of insurance verification processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of college coursework or experience in Healthcare Operations, specifically Prior Authorization.
Leadership experience, preferably in a contact center setting, with expertise in using Contact Center phone systems such as NICE and/or Genesys.
Effective analytical skills, with the ability to use inductive and deductive reasoning to anticipate outcomes, and proactive identification of challenges with a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, managing and prioritizing multiple tasks/projects, and meeting deadlines.
Able to work well in a team environment that promotes inclusiveness and communication among team members, with a strong emphasis on service-orientation and proper listening skills.
