Job Opportunity: Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a key role in preparing and managing tax accounts, working papers, and annual tax returns for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate financial statements, working papers, and tax returns in compliance with Australian taxation regulations.
  • Utilize accounting software for financial accounts and tax returns.
  • Manage client data and documentation via cloud-based tools.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Provide expert advice and troubleshooting on tax-related matters, including income tax obligations and deductions, capital gains tax calculations and strategies, goods and services tax compliance, and business activity statement preparation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams via email and project management tools.
  • Ensure timely delivery of work while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Stay updated on Australian taxation legislation, industry best practices, and emerging trends.

Requirements:

  • CPA, CA, or tax-specific qualifications.
  • Experience with other Australian accounting standards.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Australian tax accounting, with proven expertise in tax compliance, regulations, and strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Xero accounting software, Xero Practice Manager, cloud-based tools, and Excel for reporting and data management.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex tax concepts clearly and professionally.
  • Comfortable engaging directly with accountants to discuss and explain tax issues and strategies or resolve queries.
  • Exceptional accuracy in preparing financial statements, tax returns, and working papers, ensuring compliance with ATO standards.
