The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Design Engineer at Arup, you will be responsible for undertaking electrical design elements for complex and major projects. Your key responsibilities will include preparing design calculations, drawings, specifications, and data sheets based on project requirements. You will also be involved in report writing, authoring official documents, and contributing to analysis results for reports.

  1. You will provide and review electrical design calculations and drawings, ensuring compliance with international and local design standards and codes.
  2. As part of our team, you will represent Arup at external meetings, attend kick-off meetings, and prepare internal and external minutes of meetings.
  3. You will work closely with Building Services (MEPF) engineers, coordinating work with other disciplines, and conducting site inspections for quality control and verification.
  4. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics communications, excellent programming skills, and experience in preparing technical design information and engineering drawings.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A registered engineer in electronics communications
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Strong programming skills, including experience with software such as Visual Basic, C-Plus, C-sharp, MathLab, etc.
  • Ability to develop detailed drawings, prepare specifications, and demonstrate strong design ability and engineering solutions
  • Familiarity with international and local design standards and codes, such as US standards, BS, JIS, etc.
