As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in ensuring that students with diverse needs receive the support and guidance they require to succeed. Your primary responsibility will be to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique requirements.

Job Description:

This is a dynamic and challenging position that demands strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. As a Special Education Teacher, you will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to identify areas of need and develop strategies for improvement.

Your duties will include:

  • Orienting students to their course materials and communicating course expectations
  • Demonstrating thorough knowledge and understanding of assigned courses or subjects
  • Understanding the diverse backgrounds and needs of students and families
  • Facilitating live class sessions in virtual or blended classroom environments
  • Participating in school initiatives related to student achievement and state/local testing
  • Serving as a tutor for regularly scheduled tutoring sessions
  • Monitoring and evaluating student progress to determine appropriate course pacing and assign live interventions as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A valid Pennsylvania State Teaching Certificate in Special Education
  • Job-related experience preferred
  • Child Abuse Clearance; Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Clearance
