Job Title: Senior Front-End Developer

Hunt St is seeking a skilled professional to deliver high-quality front-end development with clean code, modern tooling, and best practices.

  • This role requires strong experience across WordPress, Shopify, and React-based builds.

The successful applicant will be working closely with the lead developer, implementing complex builds and solving technical challenges as part of the team. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Delivering work on time and reliably meeting project deadlines.
  2. Being dependable and proactive in collaborating with the team.
  3. Developing custom WordPress themes using ACF and modular CSS/JS.
  4. Building custom Shopify themes and extending functionality as required.
  5. Delivering React-based front-end builds, including Gatsby for static and hybrid websites.
  6. Translating designs and requirements into maintainable, performant code.
  7. Applying advanced site optimisation techniques such as Core Web Vitals, caching, lazy loading, image optimisation, etc.
  8. Ensuring accessibility, responsive behaviour, and SEO best practices are consistently applied.
  9. Working with Git using a branch/pull request/merge workflow.
  10. Using modern toolchains such as Webpack, Vite, Babel, npm/yarn to improve development efficiency and code quality.
  11. Integrating and consuming third-party APIs.
  12. Configuring and implementing advanced analytics and tracking solutions, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, with custom event tracking, data layer integrations, and conversion optimisation setups.
  13. Troubleshooting issues across front-end, WordPress, Shopify, React, and server environments.
  14. Implementing animations and micro-interactions with performance and UX in mind.

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred. Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills is essential. Experience with collaborative team environments and version control systems like Git is also desirable.
