Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Safeguards Specialist (Biodiversity) to join our team at the Asian Development Bank.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact projects that aim to alleviate poverty and promote sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.

The successful candidate will provide advice on safeguard policy issues, undertake environmental due diligence, and provide technical and procedural inputs to projects to ensure compliance with ADB's safeguard procedures.

You will be responsible for providing solutions, conducting project implementation, and reviewing and rolling out ADB safeguards policies.

You will also provide technical leadership and knowledge on environmental impact assessment, focusing on assessing and managing biodiversity-related impacts and risks.

  • Review ADB financed program and projects and advise operations departments on safeguard policy requirements.
  • Support borrower clients in design and implementation of biodiversity management plans and biodiversity conservation measures.
  • Join safeguard review missions and operation support missions for complex and sensitive projects.
