Linux Cryptography Specialist Role

This is an exciting opportunity to utilize your software engineering and cryptography expertise to create a secure foundation for Ubuntu users, ensuring their data remains protected and compliant with international security standards.

You will collaborate with organizations such as DISA and CIS to develop and implement security benchmarks for Ubuntu. As a member of the Security Hardening team, you will work closely with other engineers to achieve and maintain various Security certifications.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with external security consultants to test and validate kernel and crypto module components
  • Enhance Linux cryptographic components with necessary features and functionality for FIPS and CC certification
  • Work with external partners to develop security hardening benchmarks and automation for audit and remediation of Ubuntu
  • Contribute to Ubuntu mainline and upstream projects to implement solutions and benefit the community

We seek someone with hands-on experience in low-level Linux cryptography APIs and debugging, solid software engineering fundamentals, and demonstrated knowledge of security and cryptography principles.
