Financial Records Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced financial professional to join our team. If you thrive in an established environment, have a passion for maintaining accurate financial records, and enjoy contributing to the success of a forward-thinking organization.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and organized financial records, ensuring seamless bookkeeping processes. This includes posting daily transactions in QuickBooks Online, processing invoices, receipts, purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, and supplier/vendor payments. The selected individual will also reconcile bank statements and general ledger monthly, prepare financial data and reports using Excel and Fathom, extract and compile expense submissions via Dext, and support payroll activities, issue refunds, and supplier payments.

The chosen candidate will possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving acumen, as well as excellent communication and organization skills. They will also have a solid understanding of AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, and financial compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records
  • Post daily transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Process invoices, receipts, purchase orders, accounts payable/receivable, and supplier/vendor payments
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger monthly
  • Prepare financial data and reports using Excel and Fathom
  • Extract and compile expense submissions via Dext
  • Support payroll activities, issue refunds, and supplier payments

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a remote environment or the cannabis industry
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
  • Strong Excel skills: pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis
  • Experience with Fathom (or comparable financial reporting platforms)
  • Comfortable using Dext or similar receipt-processing tools
  • Solid understanding of AP, AR, reconciliation, general ledger, and financial compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving acumen
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
