Job DescriptionThe Cash Receipts Specialist plays a vital role in managing cash receipts, ensuring accurate payment allocation and receipt verification. Key duties include:
- Posting daily cash receipts from various banks and financial institutions.
- Processing payments from multiple lock boxes.
- Reconciling cash and accounting records on a monthly or weekly basis.
- Designing and implementing efficient reconciliation processes around lock box operations.
- Providing regular reporting on cash receipts and volume.
- Updating customer information based on remittance data.
- Performing account reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving inquiries.
- Developing effective working relationships with customers, billing teams and account managers.
- Establishing reporting cadences with direct supervisors.
- Collaborating with account managers and senior management to resolve customer complaints and payment issues.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in cash receipt processing, including collections and contract management. Industry experience in IT services is advantageous.
- Familiarity with accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, QuickBooks and ConnectWise.
- Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong Excel skills.
- Attention to detail and goal-driven approach.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to high-quality customer service.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
