Remote Sensing Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Sensing Specialist to support our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in remote sensing and geospatial analysis, with expertise in machine learning and scripting languages.

  • Support project design, feasibility assessment, implementation, and long-term monitoring of remote sensing and geospatial projects.
  • Analyze and model remote sensing and geospatial data for applications such as land cover/use mapping, fire risk assessment, above-ground biomass estimation, and deforestation risk modeling.
  • Leverage cutting-edge technologies, including cloud computing, machine learning, and scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, SQL), to build automated workflows, enhance geospatial infrastructure, and support MRV processes.
  • Support field data collection through drone coordination and validation activities, provide technical guidance and training, and ensure geospatial quality control across teams.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of remote sensing principles and geospatial analysis methods.
  • Expertise in machine learning algorithms and deep learning techniques for image classification and segmentation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python and Google Earth Engine.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms and APIs, such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
