Backend Software Developer

This is a remote part-time role for a skilled backend software developer. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our software systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain web applications.
  • Designing, developing, and deploying server-side code using programming languages such as Python and Node.js.
  • Designing and implementing database schemas, queries, and interactions with databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Integrating third-party APIs and services as needed for functionality and data exchange.
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code, adhering to industry best practices and standards.
  • Conducting code reviews, identifying areas for improvement, and maintaining high code quality standards.
  • Implementing security and data protection measures to safeguard user information and business data.
  • Troubleshooting and debugging issues, providing timely resolutions to ensure smooth operation of web applications.
  • Staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously improve our development processes and capabilities.
Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled and adaptable individual with the following qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
  • Adaptability to work within Eastern Standard Time (EST) for efficient collaboration.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and RESTful API design.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience or familiarity with Zoho and Zoho Deluge is preferred.
  • Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
