Finance Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our dynamic team at Sweet Haven Land Developers, Inc. as we prepare to open our doors to a new luxury hotel in Baguio City.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all financial aspects of the hotel, including recording, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis of financial transactions.
  • Establish and maintain checks and balances as well as rigorous control measures to safeguard the integrity of financial data and processes.
  • Establish effective monitoring and reporting of revenue and expense – both fixed and variable.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of financial reports, compliance with all regulatory requirements with full observance of accounting standards and company policies.
  • Work with HR on optimization and monitoring of labor cost.
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Establish and maintain accounts with banks and pay facility partners.
  • Monitor purchasing activities as well as accuracy of vendors contract.
  • Work with departments on costs effectiveness without sacrificing quality and service.
  • Monitor budgets, forecast and trends in revenue and expenses and notify management on any foreseen financial effect.
Daily Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Monitor and dashboard report to management on the following: Average Daily Rate (ADR), Revenue per available room (RevPAR), Gross operating profit per available room (GOPPAR), Labor cost to total revenue ratio.
  • Leverage your tech-savvy skills to manage and optimize hotel software systems, particularly the financial and operational software.
  • Oversee, manage and audit the procurement efforts of the Purchasing Officer.
  • Work closely with property operations to provide financial insights and support, ensuring alignment with operational goals and financial strategies.
Qualifications:
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • At least 3 years of experience as a manager or supervisor in finance or accounting role, preferably in hospitality and tourism industry or equivalent field
  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, cash flow management, risk management, financial strategy development, cost management, tax planning and compliance, and financial systems and processes
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive results
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with a strategic mindset and analytical abilities
  • Strong command of accounting processes, mandatory compliance, and financial reporting
