Job Title: Construction Bookkeeper

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Bookkeeper to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting, job costing, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong bookkeeping skills, preferably in construction, with knowledge of construction accounting and job costing principles. Experience with estimating processes, bids, or take-offs is also essential.

This role requires proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Buildertrend, strong Excel and data entry skills, attention to detail, and high accuracy. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required for this position.

  • Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software.
  • Perform job costing and track expenses by project.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable, invoices, and vendor payments.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor statements.
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.
  • Assist with estimating by reviewing plans, material take-offs, and subcontractor bids.
  • Support project managers with budget tracking and cost-to-complete analysis.
  • Manage payroll and ensure compliance with construction labor laws.
