We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to support U.S. Customs and Border Protection in their efforts to protect the United States.

As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for data mining, data preparation, and reporting.

You will also determine the accuracy and reasonableness of data, recommendations, and solutions proposed. Additionally, you will document and summarize results and develop recommended solutions to customer problems.

Your duties may include preparing big data, implementing data models developed by others, and providing database support for customer solutions.

Serving as a key member of a data science project team, you will support data scientists or other consultants in the performance of assigned tasks.

Requirements:
  • Four (4) years relevant experience in applied research, big data analytics, statistics, applied mathematics, data science, computer science, operations research, or other closely related quantitative or mathematical discipline
  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, or other closely related scientific or technical discipline
  • Knowledge of data mining methods, databases, data visualization, and machine learning
  • Experience with analytic techniques such as Anomaly detection, Clustering, and Time-series (e.g., ARIMA)
  • Experience implementing NLP concepts including preprocessing (stemming, etc.), TF-IDF, Named Entity Recognition, and LLMs
  • Ability to communicate analysis techniques, concepts, and products
  • Ability to develop data-driven analysis and reports based on data visualizations and data models
  • Strong SQL skills and ability to identify issues with data
  • Experience with Qlik, Tableau, PowerBI tools, and Databricks
  • Familiarity with industry best practices for software-hardware optimization when processing large sets of data
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Expertise with Qlik
  • Experience with machine learning, statistical modeling, time-series forecasting, and/or geospatial analytics
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or other parallel storage/computing processes
