Job Title: Healthcare Coding and Compliance Specialist

Description:

We are seeking a skilled healthcare coding and compliance specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical coding, billing, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and abstract medical information from patient records for physician/NP visits and home health start-of-care visits.
  • Coding diagnostic and procedural information accurately, following ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS, MS-DRGs, APCs, and POAs guidelines.
  • Document essential patient information, including medication history, active diagnoses, and preventive care screens.
  • Consult with medical providers on potential missing HCC diagnoses and accurate documentation and code assignment.
  • Verify claims data for accurate coding and billing.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to improve documentation, coding accuracy, and compliance.
  • Stay current with coding regulations and provide education as needed.
Requirements:
  • Background in a medical field.
  • Proficient in English language, both written and verbal.
  • Certification as Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist-Physician (CCS-P) is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in medical coding and billing, with focus on physician and home health coding.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, coding systems, and regulatory requirements.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with coding software and EHR systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
