Geospatial Software Engineer

We're seeking a skilled geospatial software engineer to join our Customer Operations division, supporting market-leading SaaS technology that serves the global network construction industry.

Job Overview

This role sits at the intersection of software development and operations, ideal for a mid-level software developer who thrives on solving real-world problems and creating solutions that drive operational efficiency.

You'll design, build, and maintain internal tools and automation systems, streamlining workflows for operations teams and enhancing the customer experience.

Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential, working closely to understand requirements and rapidly deliver impactful tools and solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain internal tools and scripts using Python to support operations workflows.
  • Develop and optimize ETL processes for spatial data into relational databases such as PostgreSQL/PostGIS.
  • Automate data transformation and processing pipelines to improve efficiency and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with operations and product teams to identify opportunities for tool development and automation.
  • Troubleshoot and support internal tools and workflows in both production and development environments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant engineering field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Python development.
  • Hands-on experience with geospatial tools such as QGIS, PyQGIS, or GIS libraries like GDAL/OGR, Shapely, or GeoPandas.
  • Demonstrated experience in scripting and automating data processing tasks.
  • Proficient in SQL and relational databases, with a preference for PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently from concept through to delivery.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in an operations-facing role or in developing internal tooling.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS, and experience with CI/CD pipeline workflows.
