Financial Leadership Opportunity

Job Summary

We seek an experienced Senior Accountant to lead our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in US non-profit accounting, with expertise in financial reporting, close processes, audits, and compliance.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial information, preparing financial statements, and maintaining general ledger accounts. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statements.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Lead internal audit engagements, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and more than seven years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Extensive experience in US non-profit accounting, including reporting and compliance.
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is a plus.
  • Experience in a Big 4 firm is a plus.
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in finance or accounting.
  • Advanced certifications, such as CMA or CFA.
  • Experience with financial planning and analysis software.
