Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing the work of junior accountants, ensuring accuracy and quality of financial statements, VAT returns, corporate tax returns, and other accounting deliverables before submission.

  • The ideal candidate will have strong understanding of UK accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Prior experience in a UK accounting firm is essential.
  • A proven track record of reviewing and overseeing junior staff is required.

This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Accounting Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing and preparing financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
  • Overseeing the preparation and submission of VAT returns and corporate tax returns.
  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and finance.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
