Job Overview

The Systems Designer position requires a technical lead to oversee project implementation and ensure end-to-end system integration and delivery.

This role serves as the overall technical architect, translating high-level designs into detailed solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, effective communication abilities, and a solid understanding of project delivery frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation of solution plans based on provided architectural designs.
  • Collaborate with system analysts to break down high-level designs into actionable technical packages.
  • Work closely with project managers and business analysts to refine and validate business and technical requirements.
  • Review and validate detailed functional specifications to ensure alignment with planned solutions.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts and security teams to ensure holistic and secure end-to-end system design.
  • Oversee testing and production environment setup in collaboration with system administrators and database administrators.
  • Support systems analysts during production handover processes.
  • Lead technical readiness activities to ensure support teams are prepared to manage systems post-deployment.
  • Oversee cutover planning and execution for deploying system enhancements into production.
  • Provide technical leadership during stabilization periods after deployment, managing escalations and production issues.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education – Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Related Work Experience
    • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in telecommunications, IT, or cloud services.
    • Prior experience as a technical lead in solution design or systems integration projects is highly preferred.
    • Experience in designing or supporting systems or core processes relevant to the assigned vertical or industry.
  • Knowledge
    • Strong understanding of software development life cycles and Agile/DevOps methodologies.
    • Working knowledge of Unix/Linux, shell scripting, Java, SQL, and cloud fundamentals.
    • Familiarity with SOAP/REST APIs and enterprise integration patterns.
    • Solid understanding of project delivery frameworks and governance.
  • Skills
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Sound judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Effective leadership of small technical teams or workstreams.
    • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
    • Comfortable working under pressure and meeting tight service level agreements.
