Database Specialist Role Overview

This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining database systems to support business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of relational databases, database architecture, and data modeling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement relational database models and architecture
  • Create performant and maintainable PL/pgSQL code for database development
  • Contribute to refactoring and optimization of existing database structures and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure database systems meet business requirements
  • Implement automated tests and CI/CD pipelines for database development

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in relational database development (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/pgSQL programming languages
  • Experience with version control (Git) and modern software development workflows
  • Good understanding of database performance and storage optimization
  • Working knowledge of Linux environment
  • Bonus points for scripting skills (Bash, Python)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD is a plus)
  • Experience with Docker and microservices is a strong plus
